You can help protect yourself from scammers by verifying that the contact is a Microsoft Agent or Microsoft Employee and that the phone number is an official Microsoft global customer service number. I had to reninstall Windows 10 but that did the trick ;- Now the computer is up and running well ;- And the ethernet connection works again!
Here is some more on the problem: I first tried the driver that Dell Support recommended but it failed. This site in other languages x.

It finally fix with older version of this driver in my case it was Broadcom NetXtreme 57xx Gigabit Controller version Hope this helps I also found this nasty glitch but gigabir for me my Dell Latitude D had a wireless driver that broadclm compatible so I did like you said and sure enough that driver did the trick now I am back on Ethernet. After install, device manager shows yellow failure symbol and error code 10 as reported by many others above.
So Broadxom grabbed my old laptop, did some research and downloaded a few new drivers, put them on my usb stick and copied them to my PC, did what I had to do I really don’t know how to explain it in English haha, im so sorry!

Well folks, Thanks to a helpful person on this Forum who sent me a link to the version 14 x64 driver I was all set to try a second time to upgrade to Win Gigabiit this solve your problem? Installed the version Win 10 said it had already downloaded ggigabit was ready to install Hardware Ids from Device Manager properties: Is this something I can fix???

There might be a problem with the driver for the Ethernet 2 adapter I’m on Dell’s website downloading a few things. broadocm
Please note that I have seen others on here report that the advanced setting to yigabit update any drivers isn’t working. This thread is locked.

It worked before with Windows 7. I have a Dell D, and when I first updated the netztreme to Windows 10 the 57xx Gigabit controller was working fine. I didn’t have anything on this machine worth keeping.
